IACSeries Staff

Ok ya’ll been waiting patiently so here it is….. The C-Town Throw Down Event description:

Registration opens at 7 am and to participate in the 8am-9am C-Town Double Down Event you must be fully registered by 8 am…. SO BE THERE ON TIME!!

The day will begin with a special, never seen before, unique experience where you will be able to wager time vs. ability.  That means we will have set up 8 different challenges and allotted a time prize to each.  If you complete the task, you will earn a set amount of seconds that you will be able to subtract against your final time of the day.  Lowest time wins!  That being said, in the event that you step up and attempt any of the challenges and fail, you will be given time to ADD to your total.  Again, lowest time wins.

Example:  20m Hand stand walk.  Complete it and be awarded -10 seconds; Fail it and accumulate +10 seconds.

You choose whether to participate or sit it out.  I will tell you on the test runs the winning teams were only 3 seconds apart.  Strategy is your friend.

The WOD – This is a 4 part series in which you will be given an 8 minute time cap to complete, with your partner, a set amount of reps per exercise with a “buy in” each time the partners switch. The clock will stop at 8 min, allow 2 min to transition to the next phase and then time restarts for your next 8 min time cap.

Round 1 – 1000m row with 10 bar over burpee buy in (8min cap)

2 min transition

Round 2 – 100 Wall Balls with 10 KB swing buy in (8min cap)
RX Men – 20# WB/53# KB
RX Women – 14# WB/35# KB
Scaled Men – 14# WB/35# KB
Scaled Women – 10# WB/18# KB

2 min transition

Round 3 – 100 Dead lifts with 10 pull-up buy in (8min cap)
RX Men – 185#
RX Women – 135#
Scaled Men – 135#
Scaled Women – 95#

2 min transition

Round 4 – Max calorie with 10 hand release push-up buy in (8min cap).  The total calories will be converted to seconds and then subtracted from your total time… so row like a mad man!

Ok folks – there might be changes, there might not be.  We might switch the whole thing, we might not….. It’s all about adapting and overcoming……so be prepared!

You will also be docked time if you do not have fun!  Seriously people – we aren’t curing cancer out here.  This is a party of health, so let loose, enjoy and have fun!

SIDE NOTE: We have a youth athlete event on December 7th, 2013 at CrossFit Preferred in Gilbert so check it out on this site.  We are limiting enrollment to 40 athletes between the ages 12-17.  First registered get the spots.  Registration opens Monday, November 18th, 2013.

Lastly, the IACSeries 2014 will kick up again in Janurary.  Registration is NOW open!  Get your teams together and get your tough on.  The harder it is the more we like it!

Best of Luck,

The IACSeries Team

  • Derek Price – hates cheese
  • Mike Gillis – speaks Canadian when he gets excited
  • Ammon Woods – looks good naked

-Train Hard & Eat Clean-
The IAC Series Team

The Industrial Athlete Championship Series is designed to test your heart, strength, endurance and overall mental toughness – it is NOT a hyper-technical CrossFit only event!  We welcome all athletes who want to test themselves against the unknown.  We will provide events with challenges you have never prepared for.  There is no perfect way to train for this as you won’t know what the competition involves until at least 4 days prior to the event.  For more information on the rules and the event itself, please visit the About Us and Event pages.

This is your chance to veer outside of your comfort zone and in the process, help bring some comfort to a little girl who needs our help. Please take the time to watch Savannah’s Story and understand the money raised during this event will go directly to the purchase of a service dog for her and her family.  A little sweat and discomfort – all for a good cause.

Thank you,

The IACSeries Team
